Many of the models and tools applied in engineering design studies are also used in environmental assessments.

Sahili undertakes numerical modelling simulations for input to environmental impact assessments, including:

• Changes to tidal currents, waves and sediment transport pathways
• Transport and dispersion of effluent and potential impact on sensitive receptors
• Impacts of climate change in terms of sea levels rise, and increased storminess

Sahili also provides numerical modelling studies of baseline conditions for application in shoreline management plans, coastal adaptation, flood alleviation and managed realignment schemes, and coastal resilience initiatives.
