About Sahili
I am a Chartered Marine Engineer, Chartered Marine Scientist, and Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), with over 30 years of international experience in port, coastal, and maritime civil engineering, alongside environmental assessment support studies.
My career began in a technical role, carrying out research and consultancy in coastal and marine projects, progressing into senior leadership roles including Regional Manager (South Asia and Middle East), Coastal Discipline Lead, and Maritime Director.
Alongside my consultancy work, I have continued to support IMarEST as a Professional Review Interviewer, whilst also setting up the Coastal Science and Engineering Special Interest Group which aims to highlight knowledge, innovation, and sustainable coastal solutions amongst IMarEST members.
As a nod to the eight wonderful years spent recently in the UAE, I have set up Sahili — derived from the Arabic word for ‘coastal’ — to offer hands-on, experienced consultancy and advisory to support coastal and marine developments across the UK, Middle East, South Asia, and beyond.
