I am a Chartered Marine Engineer, Chartered Marine Scientist, and Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST). Alongside my consultancy work, I have contributed to industry leadership, including founding and chairing the Coastal Science and Engineering Special Interest Group at IMarEST — reflecting my commitment to technical excellence, innovation and sustainable coastal solutions.
My career began in a technical role, carrying our research and consultancy in coastal and marine project, progressing into senior leadership roles including Regional Manager (South Asia and Middle East), Coastal Discipline Lead and Maritime Director. This journey has taken me from the UK to the UAE and across various countries in South and South-East Asia, delivering complex marine and coastal projects with measurable impact.
As a nod to the eight years spent recently in the Middle East, Sahili — derived from the Arabic word for ‘coastal’ — is my consultancy, built on over 30 years of international experience in port, coastal and maritime civil engineering, alongside environmental assessment support studies.
Through Sahili, I offer a hands-on, highly experienced approach shaped by a career spanning technical delivery, research, leadership and strategic business development across the UK, Middle East, South Asia, and beyond.
